Sadguru Swamy Virajananda Saraswathi Maharaj (b: Aug.1946) of Sri Datta Sadananda Ashrama, Doddamudavadi, Chikkamudavadi Post, Kanakapura Taluq, (Bangalore Rural), stays here since the Vijayadashami Day of 2007. A disciple of Parama Pujya Sri Sri Sahajananda Saraswathi, he studied "Prasthana thraya" under the guidance of Veda Brahma Sri Lakshminarasimhamurthy (direct disciple P.P. Sachchidanendra Saraswathi called the Abhinava Shankara) in Holenarsipur's Adhyatma Prakasha Karyalaya. Sanyasa was bestowed upon him on the Mahashivarathri day of 17.2.1996. An enlightened soul, Swamy Virajananda is a scholar in Sanskrit, Kannada and English, and preaches Shaankara Tathva. His philosophical discourses throughout India and Nepal, are the outcome of the profound influence on him by Adi Shankara, Bhagwan Ramana Maharshi, and Ramakrishna Paramahamsa. Among the many works authored by the Swamy are Anecdotes of Ramana Maharshi, Saddarshanam, Upadesha saaram, Anubhaaviya Amritabindugalu, Sadguna Samvardhane, Gurupurnima and Ananda Yatre. An embodiment of Love, P.P. Swamy Virajananda spreads Love and Divine vibrations wherever he goes and has very kindly descended for the task of enlightening the souls at Bhadravati at present.
